Resonance Collective is a tight-knit of group DJ’s, music producers, promoters and friends operating night and day on unceded Lək̓ʷəŋən Territories.

Initially conceived in 2021 as a channel to throw parties their way, they combated a noted lack of diversity and representation within the local dance music scene in Victoria by throwing gender & genre diverse dance music events with a focus on quality of sound, artistic integrity and support for emerging artists & community safety. 

Highlights include the the presently underway SHIFT event series (each event featuring a combo of artist workshop / talks and a club night from national and international artists).

And too many nights at Hermann’s Upstairs to count.

Five years later, now incorporated as a non-profit, Resonance continues to weave and nurture a mycelic web of underground connections in the city.

ÆNNIÆ (Anya) approaches DJing as an act of exploration and synthesis, shaped by decades of obsessive music collecting and a deep devotion to the dance floor born in dark, sweaty clubs in Scotland.

With wide-spanning influences, from the prairies to the UK to the West Coast and beyond, they move through percussive techno, breaks, hard-hitting bass, drum-forward club tracks, heartfelt house and trance, and the hybrid spaces between.

Guided by a genre-fluid sense of feeling and movement, their sets gravitate towards energetic rhythms, lush and heady atmospheres, and kinetic texture. 

As a co-founder of Resonance Collective on Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ Territories, ÆNNIÆ is dedicated to fostering connection through music. They have shared lineups with Canadian-based talents like SIM, softcoresoft, efemme, Hrdvsion, Shanx, IHA, Mood Change, Njoki Njoki, Khotin, and Sergio SP, as well as international artists Hodge and softchaos.

They’ve performed at festivals including Memetic (MB), Wonderment (BC) and Samsara (BC).

Since 2021, Resonance Collective have been throwing events focused on innovation and emerging talent, including their event series SHIFT, their former monthly Depot residency, and collaborations with crews such as Gateo (Van), Eventide (Vic) and Winter Arts Festival (Van).

As a DJ, curator and event organizer, ÆNNIÆ’s aim is to move you. 

Scree Running is a Vancouver (and before that Victoria) based DJ & Producer, known in equal parts for their hypnotic, genre-agnostic & pupil dilating DJ sets they are for their productions, which span club-ready releases & song writing experiments.

Before succumbing fully to the kick drum, Scree Running spent ~ a decade playing basements, fields, dilapidated comedy clubs and attics as a lead singer / guitarist in post-punk,

psychedelic-rock, synth-punk and other too-many-hyphens bands across Ontario & Quebec, and the weight of that experience sits squarely on their fingers when they're behind a mixer.

Scree Running is also a member of Victoria's Resonance Collective, and they co-run the label Pleasure Management with friends Looting and Pablo Gonzales.

Their tracks have been either played or covered on international platforms like NTS, Keep Hush & Mixmag, and they have shared the stage with acts like Nikki Nair, Ciel and Piezo.
